Fast Lady charts the life and times of the pioneering lady motorist, racing driver, motorboat racer, aviatrix and author, Dorothy Levitt (1882–1922). It is published to coincide with the centenary of her death.

Michael Barton is a publisher and self-confessed petrolhead. Fast Lady is his second book of automotive nonfiction, the first being a biography of Tony Crook called Mr Bristol. Barton was born and brought up in Lancashire.
